About Us
About Us
I always planned on running a bakery. Honestly, it just took time for everything to fall into
place. My name’sSusan Lamb, but around here folks just call me the Pie Lady. It started more than
22 years of baking ago with a couple of pies at the Ulster farmers market. Fresh fruit, real butter,
homemade crusts—the kind of homemade recipes my family always trusted. People tried them,
came back the next week, and before I knew it, what was a weekend hobby
turned into a family-owned bakery.
Because the demand kept growing, my husband Tim jumped in, and our daughters, Grace and
Catherine, weren’t far behind. If you walk in today, chances are you’ll see one of us behind the
counter. That’s part of the charm. This isn’t a factory, it’s a community bakery. It’s flour on our
aprons, laughter in the kitchen, and the smell of pies that sell out before noon.
Why It Matters
The truth is, anybody can whip up a cake. But what makes ours different is the way we stick to
the basics—fresh ingredients, no shortcuts. Customers tell me the pumpkin rolls remind them of
their grandmother’s kitchen. A cheesecake becomes the centerpiece at family gatherings. Kids
grab cookies after school like it’s the best part of their day. Those little stories are why I keep
baking.
And while we stay grounded in local dessert traditions, we’re not afraid to get creative. Some
weeks it’s a pie you expect, other weeks it’s something new. That mix of creativity in baking and
respect for what works keeps people curious—and loyal.
What We Believe
For me, it comes down to three things: quality desserts, creativity, and community. Quality
means no cutting corners. Creativity means trying new flavors so you’re never bored.
Community means remembering why this bakery exists in the first place.
So whether you know me as Susan Lamb or simply as the Pie Lady, I hope when you step
inside, it feels like more than just buying dessert. It feels like being part of a story that’s still
being written—one pie, one cookie, one celebration at a time.
